Fascinating Pangolin Facts:
Pangolins are one of the most unique mammals in the world:
• They are the only mammals covered in protective keratin scales.
• When threatened, they curl into a tight armored ball, protecting their soft underside.
• Pangolins have no teeth and use an extremely long sticky tongue to capture ants and termites.
• Their tongues can reach up to 40 cm (16 inches) in length.
• Because of their unusual appearance, they are sometimes called “walking pinecones.”
Their prehistoric-looking scales and gentle nature make the pangolin an inspiring subject for wildlife art.
MATERIALS:
Contemporary sculptural fine art clay medium. Hand-sculpted and thermally cured under controlled studio conditions, the finished work is lightweight and durable, with a gentle resilience — distinct from traditional ceramics.
PROVENANCE:
