Black Eyed Peas Abstract Textured String Art

If you were looking for unique one-of-a-kind large abstract wall art, then this black eyed peas string art surely fits the bill. The beans art original was certainly a labor of love and I think the amount of work involved clearly shows. This will be a statement conversation piece of art for sure!

This painting was inspired by a pile of black eyed peas. Ever looked at a pile of black eyed peas? This is what they look like. The shriveled skin looks like tiny ridges so I felt string was the perfect medium. Literally 1000’s of pieces of string were glued into place to form the shape of the beans. It was then painted in acrylics.

The color of the background and frame is a deep midnight blue.

This work is framed in a wooden painted black frame and protects the work. It will keep most of the dust off the painting but a feather duster can be used to clean it. The string has been sealed so it does form a barrier for dust and dirt.

With this painting you’ll get a Certificate of Authenticity and a signed Artist’s Statement. The free shipping includes insurance and tracking. This painting is quite heavy so needs a screw (not a nail) to hang it.

To care for this artwork simply run a feather duster over it regularly. The frame can be wiped with a damp cloth.

TECHNIQUE:
The technique you see here was developed by me over a 6 year period. I wanted to find a way of working that no one else was doing so that I could produce truly unique works of art. It has taken many experiments and many failures before I finally arrived at a method that works and is long lasting.

Some of my string art pieces are now more than 20 years old and are still in pristine condition.
