FUN FACTS:
– Not Really “Red”: Its famous breast is actually orange! The name “Robin Redbreast” stuck from a time before the English language had a specific word for the colour orange (which came from the fruit).

– Fiercely Territorial: Despite their cute appearance, robins are incredibly aggressive when defending their territory, especially during breeding season. They will fight off other robins, sometimes even to the death.

– Reflection Fighters: Their territorial aggression is so strong they often attack their own reflections in windows, mirrors, or car hubcaps, thinking it’s an intruder.

– Year-Round Singers: Unlike many birds that only sing during the breeding season, robins sing nearly all year round. Both males and females sing during the winter, primarily to defend their feeding territories.

– The Gardener’s Friend: Robins famously follow gardeners around, hoping to snatch up worms and insects disturbed by digging. They quickly learn to associate humans with an easy meal.
